Stacey Redman, President and Founder

Stacey founded the Tim Griffith Memorial Foundation in 2005 after losing her son to senseless violence in 2004. Stacey is a Bay Area native and graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor’s in Sociology. Stacey has worked in Human Resources for over 25 years at various San Francisco Bay Area companies such as Autodesk, Levi Strauss, Mervyns and Oral B Laboratories. She has a grown son who also resides in Redwood City. Stacey is currently Senior Director of HR for Autodesk. In addition to founding and leading the Foundation, she has been a “Big Sister” in the Big Brother Big Sister’s program for the past six years and is a peer grief counselor at Kara in Palo Alto. She is also currently on the Advisory Boards of the Service League of San Mateo County, as well as Crime Victims United of California.


Carolyn Yates, Vice President

Carolyn is a founding member of the Tim Griffith Memorial Foundation, joining in 2005. She has an extensive background in the field of Organizational Leadership and Development in several industries including technology, health care, and retail. Carolyn has worked internally in establishing leadership and development initiatives and teams and has done independent consulting to organizations. She is currently working at Google as a Director focusing on organizational development.


Denise Harvey, Secretary and Auction Chair

Denise is a founding member of the Tim Griffith Foundation, joining in 2005. She is a Bay Area native and has worked as an HR Professional for the last sixteen years. She currently works at Autodesk, a design software company in the Bay Area, where she also oversees the Worldwide Community Relations function. While raising her now-grown son and daughter, she was very involved in the community as a Girl Scout and Boy Scout Leader, PTA and School Site Council Member. 

Carol Haner, Foundation Treasurer

A supporter of the Tim Griffith Foundation since its inception, Carol joined the Board in 2018 as the Foundation Treasurer. She has over ten years of recent experience in Finance and Business Management and an additional 25+ years in disciplines in the Technology sector, including Systems Engineering, Programming and Management. Carol was born in Pennsylvania and moved west, spending the last 43 years here in the Bay Area. She has been an active volunteer over the years, including roles on the Outreach and Finance boards for Woodside Village Church, Roy Cloud PTA Treasurer and the Fundraising Chair. She has taken on tasks such as volunteering for Art in Action and acting as a parent volunteer.


Julie Gayner, Communications Chair

Julie is a founding member of the Tim Griffith Memorial Foundation, joining in 2005, and acts as the volunteer Communications Chair. She has extensive career experience in the Learning and Organizational Development field in U.S. domestic as well as Asia-Pacific based organizations. Julie is currently the Learning & Development Director of Guidewire Software. Born and raised in the East Bay Area, Julie has volunteered her time with local organizations that benefit the health and well-being of children, including Girl Scouts, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the East Bay, Junior Achievement, and East Bay Regional Parks and Recreation.


Debbie Lemos, Operations Chair

Joining in 2005, Debbie is a founding member of the Tim Griffith Memorial Foundation and acts as the volunteer Operations Chair for the organization. She has over 20 years of experience in the fields of Research Administration and Operational Management in both clinical and academic environments. She is currently employed as the manager of the Mathematics Department at Stanford University. Previous to her current position she has worked in other departments at Stanford including: Sociology, OB/GYN and Microbiology. Her prior volunteer work includes School Site Council Member, PTA Board Member, Woodside Pony Club, Woodside Vaulters, and parent volunteer.


Lisa Perry, Volunteer Chair

Lisa joined the Tim Griffith Memorial Foundation in early 2005 and acts as the Volunteer Chair for the agency. She has worked in the medical field for 19 years. She currently works at Stanford University School of Medicine in the Division of Pediatric Surgery where she oversees the division both academically and clinically. Previously she worked for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. She was raised in Santa Cruz, California and has lived in Redwood City for the past 30 years. She is the mother of four children. Her prior volunteer work includes being one of the founding parents of Families Creating Living Options in Belmont, a residential home for disabled children; the Northern California Chair for an annual national conference for Support Organization for Trisomy 18, 13, and also the Campaign Coordinator for the Parker G. Kidney Transplant Fund through Children’s Organ Transplant Association.

Derek Ytreeide, Board Member

Derek joined the Board of Directors of the Tim Griffith Foundation in January, 2016.  An Eagle Scout, he attended San Jose State University where he was the founding father of SJSU’s chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.  He is a highly skilled audio visual engineer and production manager currently employed by Creative Technology as Project Manager. Derek has served as the Foundation's Gala Volunteer Production Manager since 2005 and has been honored with the Tim Griffith Foundation's Nancy Harris Volunteer of the Year Award.


Shelly Gillan, Board Member

Shelly is the Director of Programs and Client Services for Kara, a grief counseling non-profit in Palo Alto, and has been with that organization for 22 years where she first began as a volunteer.  She helped Stacey design the Tim Griffith Foundation’s Meadowlark Grief Retreats and has volunteered her time to co-facilitate these retreats.  Shelly brings a clinical background that is critical to our work.  She received degrees from San Jose State and University of San Francisco in childhood psychology, is a licensed marriage and family counselor, and is a member of the Crisis Team for first responders of the Palo Alto police and fire department.   This is the first board position that Shelly will hold, and she is looking forward to using her mental health credentials and experience to help guide our work.


Celia Harms, Board Member

As a past participant in the Foundation’s Meadowlark Retreat for Mothers grieving the loss of a child, Celia understands the impact of the Foundation’s mission.  In 2019 she joined the Board of Directors for the Tim Griffith Foundation.  Celia has a wealth of knowledge and experience in annual giving and donation support, gained over her career at Stanford’s Law School and School of Business, as well as in marketing and diversity roles at Apple. Her enthusiasm and assistance as a volunteer for TGF were inspiring and we look forward to working with Celia in future.

Debbie Lee, Communications Consultant

Debbie was the foundation’s first Executive Director and held this position for over two years. She is now collaborating with the board to help with communications. She has worked for nonprofit organizations for over 20 years in the Bay Area. Most recently she was Development Director for Child Advocates of Silicon Valley and was responsible for all areas of development including donor stewardship, grant writing, volunteer outreach, fundraising and event management. She was previously the Director of Membership and Standards at SolarTech, and the Senior Director of Membership and Events at IDEMA, and Executive Director of All Stars Helping Kids. Debbie has a special interest in helping those that are grieving. She is an active volunteer for Kara, a grief counseling organization in Palo Alto, where she serves as a peer grief facilitator and volunteers as a children’s grief counselor at the annual grief camp for youth, Camp Erin, in Livermore.
